The Weaver's Hut was established in 1985 by Eleanor Page, in the foothills of the Southern Drakensburg, in a remote rural village called Donnybrook. The Zulu women create tightly woven woollen rugs on frame looms, using the age-old tradition of hand weave. Their designs are slowly grown on the loom in an array of colour and design using a tapestry weave. A Weaver's Hut rug is instantly recognisable by its use of colour and design and quality of weave. The Weaver's Hut enjoys working with interiors to create rugs to suit our client's decor. We have a wide palette of colours, with more than 380 shades and hues to choose from. The designs range from simple contemporary using clear, bright colours, to traditional Afghan, Turkish and other Eastern kilim motifs, as well as an African ethnic range. The tight weave makes all The Weaver's Hut rugs excellent in high traffic areas. All our rugs are fully washable. There is no colour loss in the washing process. Visit us on-line at www.weavershut.com, or take a drive to our shop in Howick (see map). Should you require to see Eleanor in person, please phone prior to visit to arrange a time to meet.
